Sipping a Negroni on the terrace of the Negresco Hotel in Nice is totally decadent. So, this cocktail is a favourite when I want to close my eyes and pretend I'm in the South of France. It was actually created in Florence though in the early 1900s, it was named after Camillo Negroni who always ordered the same cocktail.
It's one of the world's most iconic cocktails made with equal parts Campari, Gin and Sweet Vermouth.
1 oz gin
1 oz Campari
3/4 oz Sweet Vermouth
Simple add the ingredients to a shaker and serve in a chilled glass poured over ice. Garnish with a slice of orange.
